This series of 4 online support groups is designed to allow you to learn from and share with others who are the main caregiver for a person living with a blood cancer / blood disorder. The focus of these sessions is on YOU and is particularly relevant for those who may feel alone, wonder how they can continue to care for a loved one and themselves and what the future may hold.
Registration is essential and is for all 4 sessions. This is a closed group that allows for group discussion within a safe, confidential space. It is important where possible to attend all sessions.
Group sizes are limited so registration is essential.
Session dates: 5 / 12 / 19 / 26 October 2023
Topics:
- Getting to know you – Meet others who understand the challenge of adjusting to life and the caring role after the blood cancer diagnosis of a loved one
- Self-care – Explore the emotional and mental load of caregiving and learn ways to manage this
- Relationships – Reflect on the changed nature of relationships and discuss some strategies to advocate for yourself in different settings
- Adapting to a changed future – Consider some of the emotional challenges and changes associated loss, change and practical issues
To participate, you will need:
- A sense of openness and willingness to share
- A computer / laptop & internet connection
- Pen & paper

Things you need to know to participate:
- You must be 18 years or older and be the carer or support person of someone with that diagnosis.
- Support groups close 15 minutes after start time. If you arrive after this, you’ll be unable to join.
- We ask you abide by the principles of privacy, confidentiality and respect.
- If you don’t receive a confirmation email of your registration, please check your junk or spam folders.
