Leukaemia Foundation Donor Charter

The Leukaemia Foundation has a long history of relationships with philanthropists, communities, businesses, and individuals across Australia to create impact and change to those affected by blood cancer.

The Leukaemia Foundation makes the following promises to donors:

We will act with integrity and transparency

The Leukaemia Foundation will always strive to be transparent, informative and professional whilst interacting with current or prospective donors.

Our staff and volunteer will always identify themselves as representatives of the Leukaemia Foundation when they contact current or prospective donors.

We are committed to the ongoing development of our staff to ensure we remain current with industry standards, such as the FIA Code.

All donors will receive an official receipt suitable for taxation purposes, and appropriate acknowledgement, recognition and publicity as outlined in gift documentation.

On request the Leukaemia Foundation will provide its most recently published financial and annual reports, and other relevant financial information.

Our mission and vision and strategic intent will always be transparent to our donors.

We will use gifts effectively, ethically and in accordance with donor intent

The Leukaemia Foundation endeavours to administer all gifts for their intended purpose, and in an efficient, effective, and ethical manner.

Unrestricted gifts will be used to support advancing the mission, vision and strategic intent for where it will make the most significant impact. The Leukaemia Foundation reserves the right to decline gifts where acceptance would compromise our fundamental principles.

In the unlikely event that the Leukaemia Foundation cannot satisfy the original purpose of a gift, where possible consultation will take place with the donor or the donor’s representative and the gift may be applied to an alternate purpose deemed most consistent with the original wishes of the donor.

We respect the privacy of donors

The Leukaemia Foundation will not disclose a donor’s personal information publicly unless consent has been provided by the donor or where it is required by law to do so. We will respect the privacy of donors and provide anonymity to donors who request it.

We are committed to the protection of every individual’s personal information and we will adhere to our Privacy Policy and Notification Statement.
