Being diagnosed with blood cancer / disorder throws a young adult’s world into turmoil. Whether you were diagnosed 1 month, 1 year or many years ago – a diagnosis can have immediate and long-lasting effects. We understand you may often feel alone & seek connection with others in your age & stage of life ‘who just get it’.
The aim of the group is to share with others experiencing similar challenges and to learn from each other in a safe, non-judgmental, supportive space.
Topics Covered
Each week the group will explore the following topics:
- Getting to know you: Exploring self-identity
- Communication & relationships: Talking about blood cancer with others
- Life transitions after diagnosis: Transitions to work / study / other roles
- Sensitive conversations: On sexuality / intimacy / fertility & taboo topics
- Where to from here: Self–care / long term support
