Site information

Site information

In addition to information about the Leukaemia Foundation, our programs and services, and our fundraising activities, this site provides information about blood cancer and related blood disorders (such as diagnosis, disease, therapy, services and treatment) to improve the health and wellbeing of people living with blood cancers, their carers and families, and the communities they live in. This information is:

  • quality-assured and reliable
  • up-to-date
  • locally relevant
  • easy to understand.

The information on our site aims to help people understand and manage their blood cancer-related health and medical conditions. It does not replace advice or care provided by medical practitioners and other qualified health professionals.

From time to time we may publish stories featuring some of our supporters, who help fund the Leukaemia Foundation.

Our site does not display advertising or accept any form of advertising.

Comments, suggestions and concerns

Authorship

Content on the Leukaemia Foundation website has been developed by staff of Leukaemia Foundation and we gratefully acknowledge the following groups who have assisted in the development and revision of information on this site: people who have experienced blood cancer as a patient or carer, Leukaemia Foundation support staff (all of whom are qualified in clinical health or allied health disciplines), haematology nursing staff and Australian clinical haematologists.

Research and evidence-based material used is generally referenced (at the end of the page, or where the reference occurred) to acknowledge the author. All attempts are made to ensure the most up-to-date research and evidence is used.

All information published on our websites is authorised by the Chief Executive Officer.

The Leukaemia Foundation values feedback from people affected by blood cancer and related diseases and the healthcare professionals working with them. If you would like to make suggestions, or tell us about your experience, please contact us at [email protected].

Advisory and editorial review process

The Leukaemia Foundation website is regularly monitored and updated as necessary to reflect changes in policy and research outcomes, and as a result of recommendations, programs and activity undertaken by the Leukaemia Foundation.

We use a rigorous quality assurance and approval process to develop and review our content, including consultation and input from subject matter experts, overview by the Leukaemia Foundation editorial team (comprising representatives from staff, people living with blood cancer representatives and subject matter experts) and referral to other relevant and reputable Australian health, medical and academic organisations as required.

While the health professionals who develop and review this content may have professional links with the organisations who have provided funding to the Leukaemia Foundation, their relationship does not influence the content that is created for this website.

Website comments and suggestions are welcome via [email protected].
