Exterior of Freemasons Village in Townsville

The Queensland Freemasons Blood Cancer Centre is an 18 unit complex built amid landscaped gardens, adjacent to the Townsville Hospital. Within the centre, covered walkways provide easy access to the comfortable two-bedroom and three-bedroom, fully self-contained units.

Eight units are located at ground level with private courtyards, while the remaining ten units are located upstairs with large balconies.

The village is equipped with:

  • a children’s playground
  • a gym and spa
  • an auditorium
  • a car park.

Residents have full access to the common room with tea/coffee making facilities, television, library, and board games. The room opens onto a barbeque area.

Due to the proximity of our accommodation centre in Townsville, the hospital provides a buggy service from the centre around the hospital grounds.

Courtesy cars are also available for Townsville centre residents.

Stage 1 was built at a cost of $2.2 million and was named in recognition of the Queensland Freemasons, who pledged $1.2 million to the Leukaemia Foundation towards the cost of the facility. The Stage 2 expansion was completed in July 2012 with funding assistance from the Queensland Government.
