Angie and Dom reveal their massive hair transformations for Aussies living with blood cancer

Wednesday March 20, 2024

Well-known Australians Angie Kent and Domenica Calarco (Dom) have today revealed their massive hair transformations as the Leukaemia Foundation’s Ambassadors for this year’s iconic World’s Greatest Shave campaign.

Both Angie and Dom have teamed up with 3x AHIA Australian Hairdresser of the Year, Dee Parker-Attwood of Wieselmann Salon Melbourne, who overhauled their hair in a bid to raise critical funds for the 140,000 Australians living with blood cancer.

Blood cancer has impacted Angie and Dom in different, but devastating ways, which motivated them to sign up to this years World’s Greatest Shave.

Angie’s father was sadly diagnosed with blood cancer in July 2023 and whilst he has been going through treatment, including a gruelling bone marrow transplant, Angie and her family have been staying at the Leukaemia Foundation accommodation centre in Brisbane to ensure they remain close to the hospital.

Dom is also no stranger to the toll that blood cancer has on a family, having lost her beloved uncle to blood cancer five years ago making the challenge of signing up to World’s Greatest Shave a very personal one for her.

With both women set on smashing their fundraising targets, Angie and Dom are appealing to the Australian public to dig deep and donate to help them raise vital funds for Australians living with blood cancer.

Angie and Dom adhered to the World’s Greatest Shave primary message which is to shave, cut, or colour your hair with celebrity hair stylist, Dee Parker-Attwood, famous for taking Celeste Barber blonde, working her magic to create dramatic, fashion-forward, and on-trend styles for each of them.

Every single strand of hair that Australians like Angie and Dom change this World’s Greatest Shave, whether they chose to shave, cut, or colour, is going to help champion change for the 53 Australians diagnosed with blood cancer today.

Funds raised through the campaign ensures the Leukaemia Foundation can continue its support for blood cancer patients and their loved ones and helps to make significant strides into finding better and more targeted treatment options for Australians living with blood cancer, with the hope of one day finding a cure.
