A procedure which replaces blood stem cells in people whose bone marrow has been destroyed by chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. Now referred to as a stem cell transplant.
There are two types of stem cell transplant: allogeneic stem cell transplant and autologous stem cell transplant.
