The Leukaemia Foundation Annual Report 2020 highlights a transformative year shaped by resilience, innovation, and a collective commitment to achieving zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035. Guided by the newly established Blood Cancer Taskforce and the launch of Australia’s first National Strategic Action Plan for Blood Cancer, the Foundation strengthened its Access Strategy, ensuring all Australians have equitable access to trusted information, best-practice treatment, and essential supportive care. Despite the dual challenges of bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation rapidly pivoted to digital and remote service delivery, providing over 40,000 nights of accommodation, 26,000 connections with families, and extensive online support resources. Major fundraising efforts, including the World’s Greatest Shave ($12.6M) and Light the Night ($1.08M), continued to sustain life-saving research and care programs. Financially, the Foundation maintained stability with $84.7 million in net assets, even amid decreased fundraising revenue. With strengthened advocacy, new partnerships, and expanded research investment, the report reflects a year of adaptability and renewed purpose in supporting the blood cancer community nationwide
