The Leukaemia Foundation Annual Report 2019 marks a defining year in the organisation’s journey toward its bold goal of zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035. The Foundation launched the landmark State of the Nation: Blood Cancer in Australia report and, in partnership with the Federal Government, established the nation’s first Blood Cancer Taskforce to shape the forthcoming National Strategic Action Plan for Blood Cancer. With a focus on equitable access to information, treatment, and care, the Foundation provided 52,738 nights of accommodation, 29,937 transport trips, and 23,000+ emotional support connections. Research investment exceeded $1.75 million across 25 projects, including global collaborations with the Snowdome Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Major fundraising events like World’s Greatest Shave and Light the Night inspired record participation, while legacy giving and corporate partnerships strengthened long-term sustainability. Financially, the organisation achieved a $4.97 million surplus on $35.5 million in revenue. The year demonstrated unity, innovation, and the power of community in transforming the blood cancer experience across Australia
