Bridgestone and the Leukaemia Foundation

A partnership that puts patients first

We’re proud to have the long-term support of Bridgestone Australia.

It’s a partnership spanning 40 years, and one that has helped provide people living with blood cancer access to life-changing services and support.

In this past 5 years alone, our partnership with Bridgestone has benefited more than 3000 patients through transport services, as well as contributing  close to 192,000 nights of accommodation in Blood Cancer Centres throughout Australia, including more than 44,000 nights for over 400 families at Adelaide’s Leukaemia Foundation Bridgestone Blood Cancer Centre since it opened in 2013.

40 years together. A lasting difference.

In 2026, we’re celebrating 40 years of partnership with Bridgestone. Since 1986, their support has helped Australians living with blood cancer access transport to treatment and vital practical support.

Together with Bridgestone’s stores and customers, we’re recognising four decades of commitment to the blood cancer community.

Hayley’s story

Hayley was just 35 and still breastfeeding her youngest son when a bone marrow biopsy confirmed Hayley’s diagnosis of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

Throughout her blood cancer treatment Hayley turned to the Leukaemia Foundation to assist with practical and transport support.

We were given grocery vouchers, which were a great help in that time, but the main thing was getting help with transport,” said Hayley.

For some appointments, I needed to be driven to the hospital, but Brent [Hayley’s husband] had to be home to care for the children.

We were so grateful to get that support as taxis are so expensive and it would’ve added up quickly.

Nearly four years later, Hayley is now blood cancer free but knows there are other families who are still facing the practical and emotional challenges that a diagnosis poses.

Bridgestone is dedicated to easing some of these challenges through their partnership with the Leukaemia Foundation, and the Bridgestone E8 Commitment. The commitment is part of Bridgestone’s vision for evolving into a sustainable solutions company.

In 2019 Bridgestone invested in a pilot program for the Leukaemia Foundation’s new enhanced transport service. Officially launched on World Blood Cancer Day – May 28, 2021 – the service provides various transport options to and from life-saving treatment for people living with blood cancer.

Throughout the year, Bridgestone stores and customers are continuing their support of people like Hayley and her family, with $2 from every Turanza Serenity Plus tyre sold directly to helping fund the Leukaemia Foundation’s transport service.

We’re incredibly proud of this 40-year partnership and grateful for the customers, franchise partners, and team members who have made it possible. It is a wonderful example of the values that Bridgestone stands by, and is a demonstration of our mission of serving society with superior quality.
