Meet Rod Broadhurst, Head of Information Technology
In November 2019 you were the LF Ambassador for the Kokoda trek, what inspired you to do this?
I loved being a representative for the Leukaemia Foundation, outside of my normal role, and really enjoyed the training. I highly encourage anyone who love a challenge to put their names forward for any new adventures the Leukaemia Foundation puts forward. I would put my hand up again, but the family would kill me! ‘
What does your current day consist of?
A typical day for myself would consist of multiple meetings with existing vendors, raising queries and discussing existing terms and agreements always trying to get the best out of them for our staff and patients. I’ll meet with potential vendors to discuss existing problem statements and how they may be able to help us out. I’ll also spend any spare time trying to educate myself on emerging technologies that we may be able to effectively use throughout our LF community.
What sports do you like playing?
I am a lover of all sport and a fierce Hawthorn (AFL) supporter. I also love cricket, getting out and playing golf and going fishing as often as I can. I’m currently coaching an Aussie Rules team here in Brisbane so between that and getting out for a kick, bike ride with my kids I enjoy a nice glass of red at the end of the day……
What is one item you couldn’t live without?
Streaming services!! Kayo Sports, Netflix, Stan and my favourite at the moment, Disney Plus….. The whole family loves documentaries, from history, food to sport we can’t get enough. I also like to mentally disappear in a good action movie so the Marvel series is getting a run at home at the moment.
