Fit to Thrive
Fit to Thrive is a free 12-week exercise program helping patients of all ages cope with treatment and get back to normal life, faster.
A growing body of research has shown that physical activity before, during and after cancer treatments like chemotherapy or stem cell transplants is an important part of the treatment process and can have a number of lasting benefits.
An evaluation report of the program by market research company, IPSOS has shown cancer patients report increased well-being, pain reduction and more energy for normal activities.
Other major benefits are:
- improved muscle strength,
- quality of life,
- and decrease in fatigue.
Currently twelve-week Fit to Thrive programs run in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Townsville, and Cairns. A three-week program is also available for those unable for health reasons to commit to the longer program.
