Positive. Heart-warming. Feel Good.

Blood cancer can be incredibly tough, but your generosity means wonderful moments happen too – both big and small.

We’re celebrating some amazing news from members of our blood cancer community who are so grateful for your support.

Thanks for being a good-news maker!

You’re by Layla’s side!

Your support has been there for Layla and her family from the moment she was diagnosed and airlifted 250km away. Your generosity gave them a caring home-away-from-home for over a year to access best practice treatment, something that meant the world to mum Jackie.

“Thank you for supporting the Leukaemia Foundation and standing with us in our fight. We feel you by our side! You’re helping kids like Layla not only get through treatment, but back to enjoying the childhood they deserve.”

Not all superheroes wear capes

Blood cancer survivor Kelly (pictured left) is so grateful for the support you’ve given researchers like Julian Lindsay (pictured right), recipient of a recent Leukaemia Foundation and HSANZ PhD scholarship. We think he’s a pretty amazing superhero too!

“Julian was on my team when I was sick and deserves so much recognition for his work. Not only is he great at what he does but also, he is an awesome human being! If you ever donated to the Leukaemia Foundation thanks, because it’s donations like yours that allowed me to get amazing treatment from people like Julian🙌.”

Important COVID-19 vaccination research begins

Prof Judith Trotman, Assoc Prof Nada Hamad, and Dr Michael Leahy (pictured left to right) are researching the immune response to COVID-19 vaccines in people with blood cancer.

The effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccinations for Australians living with blood cancer is a hugely important area of research – and one that your support is helping to fund! Excitingly, two new Leukaemia Foundation supported research studies have launched in Australia, part of a global effort to better understand how well COVID-19 vaccines work in people with cancer.

Importantly, the research results will help empower our blood cancer community to make informed decisions about protection against COVID-19.
