Craig’s riding for son Jasper
Craig Jacotine is no stranger to Ride as One. Having participated in the event three times over the past four years, he is back in 2018 to take on the Adelaide Hills.
Following the birth of his son Jasper in early 2016, Craig rejoined the Ride as One event in New Zealand, eager once more to enjoy the ride, the scenery and the comradery. Tragically, at just seven months of age, baby Jasper was diagnosed with the rare childhood blood cancer known as Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (JMML). Jasper was plunged into immediate gruelling treatment. Craig and his family were devastated but more determined than ever to raise much needed funds for families facing blood cancer. With his added motivation, Craig once again rode in 2017 knowing on his return he would be spending weeks at Jasper’s hospital bedside while he received a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully, Jasper has responded well to treatment and the transplant, and is now on the road to recovery. Craig’s advice to those considering joining Ride as One Adelaide? “Get on board, just do it! You won’t regret it. “It’s a special experience for a great cause.” Join Craig at the Ride as One Adelaide event in 2018 and help beat blood cancer and support little Australians just like Jasper.
