Working with Government
Working with government
Big promises have been made to people living with blood cancer in the lead up to the 2019 Federal Election.
Following discussions with the Leukaemia Foundation, both major political parties announced their commitment to working with us, following the election, to help beat blood cancer.
We know that people living with blood cancer face significant challenges accessing the best treatment and care. As the only national organisation that represents the needs of all people living with blood cancer in Australia, we will focus on leading actions to empower them. To do that we must ensure everyone with blood cancer in Australia has 100% access to the best information, innovative clinical trials, current and leading-edge treatments and care.
That’s why this bipartisan commitment is so important. It shows that both sides of politics acknowledge the need for action on blood cancer with the Leukaemia Foundation taking a lead role. In that role, we see our partnerships extend to the entire blood cancer community including people living with blood cancer and their families, clinicians, researchers, industry and Governments.
We look forward to working with the incoming Government after the election, to progress this important work to beat blood cancer.
