Half Marathon Challenge for Blood Cancer
The effort in fundraising this year has been fantastic with the Leukaemia Foundation runners setting a combined target of approximately $12,500. Although all runners are well on their way to achieving their targets, more support is still needed.
There is one team from Kiama who are running for the cause which is close to their hearts, their friend Tara. Their team, ‘Run4Tara’ is headed up by Sarah Goodman and has raised over $3200 so far. Their overall target is $3500 and with a little help from the Kiama community, they are bound to reach it before race day. Donations to this team can be made through the Everyday Hero website – just search run4tara at www.everydayhero.com.au.
The second group from West Pennant Hills are “The Alessi Sisters, Linda & Gianna” . They too are cloe to their target of $3200 and are less than $200 from achieving. Donation can be made through the Everyday Hero website – just search Linda & Gianna Alessi.
Money raised by the Leukaemia Foundation supporters in the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathonn will help the Leukaemia Foundation continue to provide a range of services, at no cost, to people and their families affected by blood cancer - services that range from educational information on specific blood diseases, through to financial assistance and the funding of vital research into treatments and cures.
The Leukaemia Foundation would like to extend a big thank you to all participants, sponsors and fundraisers and congratulate them on their amazing achievements pre race day, and wish the participants the best of luck on Sunday!
