The Xstrata Community Partnership Program Queensland (XCPP Qld) is proud to support the Leukaemia Foundation’s new patient accommodation village in Brisbane. In addition to funding a four unit accommodation wing, the partnership will also fund Leukaemia Foundation research projects at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.
Each year, hundreds of rural leukaemia patients are forced to make Brisbane their temporary home at a moment’s notice while they receive long term treatment. The Leukaemia Foundation has supported many patients and families from areas where Xstrata operates. From 2006, the XCPP Qld will provide $400,000 over three years to assist the Leukaemia Foundation continue these valuable services to rural leukaemia patients and families, and to fund vital medical research.
