Sunland Group
Sunland has been involved with the Leukaemia Foundation since 2001 when the group participated in the World’s Greatest Shave and co-founder of the international development group, Soheil Abedian generously lost his locks for leukaemia.
When the Leukaemia Foundation motioned the idea to build a third patient accommodation village in Brisbane, Sunland was the first to commit its time, resources and finances to help build the village.
Sunland in conjunction with the Buchan Group, designed the Clem Jones-Sunland Leukaemia Foundation Village to ensure it reflected the necessary attributes for a patient/carer village. In October 2007, the CJS Village was opened and is now the Foundation’s flagship accommodation centre for patients and families.
Managing Director for the Sunland Group, Soheil Abedian says he is proud to have been able to assist the Leukaemia Foundation.
“Leukaemia has affected me many times during my life. In the journey of life that we all go through, we should all think about what we can do to make that journey a little bit easier for others who are not so fortunate. If I am remembered for being a part of something that has made the lives of many people who are genuinely suffering a little bit easier, then for that I am thankful and proud,” he said.
The financial support generously donated from Sunland is in the region of $2.7 million which is a significant contribution to the Foundation.
