About usAbout us

Our history

During the early 1970s, life for leukaemia patients, their families and medical staff was very different to what it is today. In 1975, the Holland Park Lions Club in Brisbane took up the challenge to improve their quality of life and provide medical care, patient support, research and education for patients, families and nursing staff. They formed the Lions Leukaemia Foundation.

Our achievements

From fundraising to obtain a vital piece of medical equipment for the Brisbane Mater Hospital to supporting patients and families in every state and territory, investing millions into vital research and running one of Australia 's largest fundraising events, the Leukaemia Foundation has grown to become a leader in haematology world wide.

Our supporters

The Leukaemia Foundation would not be able to achieve our mission or vision without the generous support and assistance of volunteers, the business community and general public.

About us

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

Who we are

With around 120 staff, the Leukaemia Foundation has offices in every state and territory across Australia . Our world-class patient support extends across metropolitan, regional and rural communities reaching more than 50% of newly diagnosed patients.

Our values

While our Mission and Vision define what we seek to achieve, our values shape how the Mission and Vision are demonstrated.
