AGFEST brings community spirit to Northern Tasmania
Publish Date: 20/5/2016
AGFEST is Tasmania’s largest agricultural show and this year our community team and volunteers were on the ground raising awareness and funds to support families whose lives have been shattered blood cancer.
Attended by more than 60,000 people from across Australia, AGFEST proved the perfect event to showcase how a strong community relationship can help influence charitable participation and bolster the general awareness of blood cancer.
Young students had fun colouring their hair while others purchased Leukaemia Foundation merchandise with all proceeds providing vital support for people undergoing life-saving blood cancer treatment.
Offering a safe environment for people to share their personal connection to blood cancer, AGFEST provided us the opportunity to empower these same people to help improve treatments and find cures by fundraising for World’s Greatest Shave, U.G.L.Y Bartender of the Year and Light the Night.
Despite the rain and wind, AGFEST was a great success developing strong community awareness and interest in supporting the Leukaemia Foundation’s many fundraising initiatives and raising more than $1,000 in donations and merchandise sales.
At your next community event we can help you raise awareness of the work the Leukaemia Foundation is doing to support people with blood cancer and provide support for your fundraising ideas. Call us on 1800 640 620 or email us today to find out how.
