A major new project to provide Canberra’s first purpose-built accommodation for people undergoing treatment for blood cancer was officially launched on Friday 19 June. The concept for the new village was shaped by former Canberra resident and leukaemia survivor who stayed in a Leukaemia Foundation unit near Westmead Hospital, Sydney, while undergoing treatment.
