We respect your privacy

The Leukaemia Foundation respects your right to privacy and this policy sets out how we collect and treat your personal information.

“Personal information” is information we hold that can identify you.

We only collect personal information that is necessary for our work.  Information we collect includes your name and address, payment information about your donation/s, and communications you may have had with us.

How we collect your personal information

The Leukaemia Foundation collects personal information from you in a variety of ways, including when you use our website, phone us, write to us, email us or visit us in person.

We use your information to provide our service to you. We also use it to improve our service and to notify you of opportunities that we think you might be interested in, including, but not limited to:

  • Process donations and pledges
  • Issue receipts
  • Respond to comments or questions
  • Provide follow-up information regarding the Leukaemia Foundation
  • Provide selected information about one of the many blood cancers we support
  • Seek your ongoing support
  • To help with your fundraising efforts; 
  • For internal reporting purposes

We do not provide your information to third parties.  We never rent, sell, lend or give away your information. 

In some instances, personal information is supplied to, or collected by contractors who perform tasks on our behalf.  These are companies like database contractors (Salesforce & Artez), research agencies, teleservice bureaus and mailing houses which send out our appeal letters. But be rest assured – they are required to sign strict privacy and security agreements.

Using our website

When you visit our website, we may collect certain information such as browser type, operating system, website visited immediately before coming to our site, etc. This information is used to analyse how people use our site so we can improve our service.

Online Donations 

The Leukaemia Foundation wants to ensure that all of our supporters can donate and sponsor online with complete confidence.  We have taken every possible measure to give absolute security to you in your dealings with us.

The Leukaemia Foundation has contracted Artez Pacific to securely handle registration, donation and credit card transactions.

Their software uses Secure Sockets Layer technology, also known as SSL, to ensure a safe, sound and secure experience on our website.  Transmitted data is ‘safe’ when you see a padlock or key icon in the address bar of your web browser.  Secure web pages begin with ‘https://’ rather than ‘http://’.

Artez takes credit card and personal information security seriously, maintaining the highest level of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance – Level One.

At no time does the Leukaemia Foundation have access to your credit card information.  It is never stored on our servers.  The only time Artez would store your credit card information is to support your request to give a monthly credit card donation.
